Saturday Morning
Endless dreams in
Black and white
Birds singing
Streaming light
Through my windows
Eyes open
Squinting to
See
Yawn
I hear voices,
But cannot make
Them out
Garage door squeaks
I sit up,
Shivering,
As a breeze blows my hair,
Ruffles my
Purple
Curtains.
Clock strikes nine
I snuggle back
Down into my covers,
But change my
Mind
I have too much
Work to do
Sliding out of bed,
I peek out my
Window
Deserted street,
Lined by houses,
New and old
Gangly green trees,
Vibrant flowers
Children run,
Playing,
Working
Cars, dogs,
Small garage sale
Fresh scents,
Sunny day
Exitement
The smell of pancakes
Waft up
From the kitchen
Seeping into my
Bedroom
I Can't wait
To get
OUTSIDE!
Saturday Morning
Literary Elements:
The literary elements I used were....
Visual Imagery: I used this by descrbing everything I saw when I woke up that morning, like my pruple curtains, vibrant flowers, gangly trees, and much more. I used this so the reader would be able to imagine the image I was trying to portray when I wrote this poem.
Alliteration: I used alliteration in multiple parts of the poem, though it does not stand out as much as one one expect. Whenever I used it, it was very subtle. The alliteration I used was that I ofter used words beginning with the letter "s". I used this because I think it helps the writing flow, and it sounds better when read aloud.
Other elements used: auditory imagery
