I Am Me
Chocolate hair,
With streaks of sunshine
Almond eyes
Shine like emeralds
Pearly teeth,
Rarely hidden by
Dry, pink
Lips
I am a bull in a china shop,
But as graceful as a gazelle
on the basketball
court
Some days I am yellow,
cheerful, happy as a lark
Others I am red,
Annoyed, angry as a hornet
Some days I am white,
Shy, pure, quiet as a mouse
Others I am purple,
Outgoing, unique, brave as an eagle
I am a procrastinator
Saving everything 'til
The last
Minute
I am simple,
It is easy to make me smile,
laugh, or
cry
I am a teapot
My emotions stay bottled up
I am quick to take offense,
But it does not show, until...
I explode!
I am a hurricane
Everything spills out,
It feels good
Sometimes I speak,
Before I think
I don't mean it
I wish I could take it back
I am busy,
I play basketball and piano,
Homework keeps me up late,
But I always find time for myself
I am an artist
Creative,
Crafty,
Inspired
I am kindhearted and
Generous,
Putting others
Before myself
I am many
Different things
But, most importantly,
I am me
Literary Elements
The literary elements I used were....
Similes: I used two similes, one where I said that me eyes shine like emeralds, the other where I said that I was as graceful as a gazelle on the basketball court. I used these because it gives the reader something to compare that thing to, and it may help them understand better. It also paints a picture in their mind.
Metaphors: I used metaphors quite a lot in my poem. For example: "I am a bull in a china shop" and "Some days I am (Color)." I did this to describe myself as something that I not literaly am, but I am like.
Other elements used: repetition, visual imagery, organic imagery
